BLACK MIRROR: BANDERSNATCH
This interactive movie was directed by David Slade in 2018. It is a science fiction/ drama and it was premiered on Netflix the 28th of december of 2018. It is stared by Fionn Whitehead who plays Stefan, the main character; Will Poulter who plays Colin...
The story is set in the 1980s.
Stefan is a boy that is designing his own videogame basing it in a book called Bandersnatch where you can decide how you want the story of it to be. Stefan has some traumas caused by the death of his mother so he has to go to the psycologist. He also starts becoming paranoic thinking that someone is controlling his decisions.
There was this one scene that I think it was hilarious because when Stefan starts getting paranoical and starts asking who is controlling him, one of the options that give it to you is to tell him thet the one controlling is Netflix. If you choose that they start explaining what is Netflix to him and he obviously he doesn't understand anything.
It is a very innovative because it's the first movie where you can choose the story that you want to watch. Maybe the worst part of tahta is that in some parts tehy don't let you choose taht much what to do because it goes back and make you choose what they want you to choose; but they did that to say that there are some things that you can't control (that's why it's always going to have a tragic ending).
There are more than 10 different endings and in all of them Stefan is having a bad ending.
I really liked this movie, again, because it's very innovative and I really do like the idea of being you the one who chooses how you want the movie to be and I think as well that from now on there are going to be made a lot of interactive films because this movie was a success.
1. A character is in a zone of confort: Stefan at first is designing his own videogame.
2.They want something: he wants to make his videogame as good as possible.
3.THey enter an unfamiliar situation: he starts working in a enterprise.
4.Adapt to it: Colin helps him.
5. Get what they wanted: he ends up doing the videogame
6. Pay a heavy price for it: when he gets the videogame he starts getting paranoic about someone or something controlling his decissions.
7. Then return to the familiar situation: in this movie it doesn't go back to a normal situation because it always end badly.
8. Having changed: at first Stefan is not that crazy, i mean you have a weird vibe when you first meet him but in the end he deffinetly becames a crazy person. Also, as I said before it always going to have a bad ending, no matter what you choose.
